Modular Workstation Manufacturing in Bangalore: How a Custom Order Works

We manufacture modular furniture to order. That phrase gets used loosely, so it is worth being specific about what it means here: if you bring a design, we will build it; if you bring a requirement, we will design and build it. Either way the furniture is made at our own workshop at #336/10, Hosur Road, near ICICI Bank, Bommanahalli — not sourced, badged and resold.

Here is how a custom order actually runs, and what we need from you at each point.

1. Requirement or drawing

Two starting points.

You have a drawing. An architect’s or designer’s layout, with sizes and finishes specified. We review it for manufacturability — some designs are drawn without a clear view of how they will be built, and it is better to raise that at the start than at installation.

You have a requirement. Headcount, a floor plan, and a sense of how the teams work. We produce the layout.

What we need from you: the floor plan, ideally as-built rather than as-designed, and the honest headcount including expected growth.

2. Site survey

We measure the actual space: internal dimensions, floor level across the area, column and beam positions, where power and data enter, ceiling height, and the access route from the street to the floor — including lift car dimensions and door widths.

What we need from you: access to the site, and the building’s rules on working hours, permits and material movement.

3. Design and specification

You receive dimensioned drawings — plan, elevations and the sections that matter — plus a written specification covering board type, laminate, edge band, hardware, and the services layout.

What we need from you: a decision. This is where projects lose time. Approval of the drawing set is the gate to everything downstream.

4. Finish selection

Samples, viewed in your own space rather than under workshop lighting. For a large order we confirm batch availability at this stage so the whole run comes from one batch.

What we need from you: a final selection, and awareness that changing it after this point means re-ordering material.

5. Production

Cutting, edge banding, machining of grommets and cut-outs, frame fabrication and finishing, and trial assembly at the workshop before dispatch. Trial assembly matters — it is where a fit problem gets found on our floor rather than on yours.

6. Delivery and installation

Delivered and installed by our own team, phased if the floor is occupied, and scheduled around the building’s access restrictions.

What we need from you: a cleared, ready floor. Furniture installation cannot proceed around ongoing civil or electrical work, and the commonest cause of a delayed handover is a site that was not ready on the agreed date.

7. Snagging and handover

We walk the installation with you, list anything outstanding, and close it. Because the manufacturing is ours, a snag is a workshop job rather than a claim against a supplier.

Cabin and executive furniture, reception desks, conference and meeting tables. Storage in all heights, pedestals and partitions. Alongside that, ESD workstations, laboratory workstations, school and college furniture, library tables, restaurant and canteen furniture, modular kitchens and wardrobes.

If it is modular furniture and it can be drawn, it can be made.

What we will not do

We will not quote a delivery date before we understand your site access. We will not confirm a finish without you seeing it at full size. And we will not tell you a design will work when we can see that it will not — it is easier to have that conversation over a drawing than over an installation.
