A workshop first, a furniture company second
Sri Ranga Interior Modular Furnitures manufactures and exports modular furniture from Bommanahalli, Bengaluru. Offices, classrooms, laboratories, kitchens and bank interiors — cut, coated and assembled by us.
We started making the parts other people were buying in
The way people work keeps changing, and furniture is usually the last thing to catch up. Floors that were laid out as rows of private desks are now expected to hold project teams, hot desks and a meeting room that did not exist last quarter. Buying a fixed catalogue product into that is a slow way to waste money.
So we built the capability to change our own product instead. Sri Ranga Interior runs its cutting, edge-banding, post-forming, boring and powder coating under one roof on Hosur Road. That is an unglamorous list, but it is the entire reason a client can ask for a workstation 200mm narrower than standard and get a price the same week rather than an explanation.
Today that capability covers office and modular workstations, seating, school and college furniture, ESD and laboratory benching, modular kitchens, restaurant furniture and bank interiors — with bulk job work for builders and architects alongside it.
Five stages, none of them outsourced
Every hand-off between companies is a place a job can lose a week or a millimetre. We removed the hand-offs.
-
Measure
We come to the site with a tape rather than a catalogue. Column positions, socket heights, door swings and the width of the lift all change what can be built and how it gets in.
-
Draw
You get a layout with real dimensions and a material list — board type, laminate, edge banding, hardware — before anything is committed to.
-
Cut & band
Panels are sized, edge-banded, post-formed and bored in-house on MDF, plyboard, particle board and acrylic. Nothing goes out to a third party where we lose sight of it.
-
Fabricate & coat
Steel frames, legs and modesty panels are fabricated and powder coated so the finish is bonded rather than sprayed on as an afterthought.
-
Install
Our own crew fits the job. Snags get closed by the people who made the part, which is considerably faster than routing them through a dealer.
Checked at the machine, not at your reception desk
Furniture fails in boring, predictable ways: an edge band lifts, a board swells, a bore is 2mm off and the hinge never sits flush. All of it is catchable during manufacture, and almost none of it is economically fixable afterwards.
-
Boards are inspected on arrival
Material comes from vendors we have used long enough to know what their bad batches look like — and it still gets checked before it is cut.
-
Stage-wise checks, not one final inspection
Cutting, banding, boring and coating each have their own sign-off, so a defect can only travel one stage before somebody catches it.
-
Powder coating over paint
Steelwork is powder coated because a bonded finish survives trolleys, chair arms and cleaning staff in a way a sprayed one does not.
-
Dry-fit before dispatch
Assemblies are put together at the workshop first. Discovering a clash here costs an hour; discovering it on your floor costs a day.
