What we make

An ESD workstation is a workbench designed for handling static-sensitive electronics. The bench, the surface, the earthing path and the operator’s wrist strap are all part of one system — and the system only works if every part of it is specified together.

We manufacture antistatic tables and ESD workbenches at our Bommanahalli workshop for electronics labs, PCB assembly and rework areas, test and inspection benches, and repair stations. Benches are built to the layout of your line and to the requirement your process defines.

Configurations

Single-operator benches

A standard bay for one technician, with an earthing point, task lighting provision and under-bench storage.

Line benches

Continuous runs for assembly or inspection lines, built as linked bays so the earthing path and services run through the whole run rather than being repeated bay by bay.

Back-to-back benches

Two facing rows sharing a central services spine. Efficient on floor area and simplifies power and earthing distribution.

Test and instrument benches

Heavier construction with upper shelving for instruments, and cable routing that keeps test leads accessible without leaving them across the working surface.

Height-adjustable benches

Where the same bay is used by operators of different heights, or where the work alternates between seated and standing.

Specifying an ESD workbench

This is the part worth taking slowly. ESD requirements vary by industry, by customer and by the sensitivity of the components being handled — there is no single specification that is correct everywhere.

  • Tell us your requirement, in numbers. If your quality system, your customer, or the standard you work to specifies a surface resistance range or an earthing arrangement, give us those figures. We will build the bench to meet what you specify. We do not publish blanket claims about what our benches achieve, because the honest answer depends on the surface and earthing package chosen for your order.
  • Earthing path. Decide where the bench earths to and how many earthing points each bay needs — typically at least one for the mat and one for the operator’s wrist strap.
  • What sits on the bench. Soldering stations, microscopes, test instruments and fume extraction all affect depth, upper shelving and power provision.
  • Power and data. Outlet count and position per bay should be fixed before manufacture.
  • Lighting. Task lighting mounted on the bench is far more useful than relying on overhead lighting for fine work.
  • Working height and posture. Seated inspection and standing assembly are different bench heights. Specify per bay if the line does both.
  • Storage. Component bins, drawer units and shelving, sized to what the operator actually reaches for.

Materials and finishes

Frames are fabricated in mild steel section, welded and powder coated. Work surfaces and mats are specified to the antistatic requirement you provide, with the earthing hardware — studs, cables and connection points — built into the bench rather than added afterwards.

Upper structures, shelving, bin rails, lighting rails and power raceways are integrated into the frame. Under-bench storage is available as fixed or mobile drawer and cupboard units.

Where your process requires verification, testing of the installed surface and earthing arrangement should be carried out on site as part of commissioning. We will build to your specification; confirming performance in your environment is a measurement, not a claim, and it should be done with instruments.

Who this suits

Electronics manufacturers, EMS and PCB assembly operations, R&D and test labs, repair and rework centres, and quality-control areas handling static-sensitive components. Also relevant to college and institute electronics labs where students handle boards and components.

Customisation

ESD benches are effectively always custom, because they are built around a specific line and a specific process. Bench length, depth, height, bay count, earthing point positions, shelving, lighting and services are set per project. We work from your floor layout and your process requirement, measure on site, and manufacture accordingly.

For a line installation we recommend building and commissioning one bay first. Run real work on it, verify it against your requirement, then release the rest of the order.

Discuss your requirement

Send us your bench layout, your process notes and any surface-resistance or earthing figures your quality system specifies. We will quote against them.
